Diwali Blog-hop

Hello, everyone!!
Welcome to a special Diwali blog-hop!

I, along with a bunch of my Crafty (cardmaker) friends, have got together to bring this hop to you all and we also have got some amazing prizes by our fabulous sponsors. I hope you all will enjoy the hop and get inspired to make those Diwali cards you NEED to send out too!!

Diwali is the biggest festival of the year, we celebrate in India.
Diwali is to India as Christmas is to any other Western country.
The time when we all come together, friends and families. The time for some delicious and yummy, lip-smacking snacks and sweets, prepared at home. The time for celebrations and joy!!

I am sure you all must have heard a lot about it already.
It is widely being celebrated in many countries across the world these days.
(The big brand Sizzix also made a project for this festival. Check the link here.)

Here are my card and a tag I made for this Hop.

My card is inspired by the colorful lights of Diwali. I have used the Mandala rubber stamp by MFT stamps. I heat embossed the stamp on a watercolor cardstock in white embossing powder. Once dry, I colored the image using Watercolours by Little Birdie. I used some vibrant colors here, to depict the festival colors. I fussy cut the panel along the edge of the stamp design. Adhered the remaining part of the panel directly to the card base. Foam mounted the fussy cut part.
Added the sentiment in Hindi, which reads "Shubh Deepawali" i.e. Happy Diwali. A few enamel dots and some splatters completed my card.
I made a coordinating tag to go with this card.

This festive blog hop was made all the more special due to the Card drive we hosted.

Card Drive
As we are neck-deep in our celebrations, surrounded by our families, it would really be ungrateful if we miss remembering all those Real-life heroes who make it possible for us to enjoy all this securely and fearlessly, in our homes. As a token of our gratitude and to acknowledge their sacrifice for us, we sent out handmade cards to a few Army and Air Force units all over our country, as a part of this hop. A small effort from our side to convey that they are in our thoughts and prayers.
This was made possible by our teamie Ishani, who herself is a part of the Indian Air Force family.
It gives me immense pleasure and makes me proud that my son made all the cards I sent out in this drive. Here are the bunch of cards he made.

Sending you off to hop :)

  21. This is such a novel idea to send festive wishes, love, respect and thanks to all the people in olive, blue and white! It gives me a sense of satisfaction that the countrymen of our nation are worth serving for. Kudos to your little son who's made such lovely and neat cards. Little crafter in the making and definitely he's imbibing the true values.
The card brings out the other most important aspect of any auspicious event, Rangoli, the vibrant colours are so eye catchy and totally in the festive spirit. Loved the idea and yes the tag is so pretty and very very useful, while we exchange gifts with family and friends.. I'm so inspired by the mandala pattern.. Really really loved it.. Thank you ❤️😊
