Altered tags

Hello...

Today I have some mixed media tags over the blog.

I have collected loads of tags from new clothes and backing paper from stickers, over a long time now, with the hope that someday I would revive them all into something useful and/or something beautiful.... 

I have somehow managed to revive few of them here and gave them a sort of rebirth...Hopeful to do the same with the remaining lot too....

 (2 of the tags here are from the backing paper of a sticker set.)

(p.s. It's a picture heavy post... I just want my pictures to talk :-D)

Tags - 6nos

The tags can be used to adorn any gift. Each tag has an inspirational message / quote. Here are the closeup view of them all..... 

                                       

                                      

                                        

I made these tags on 8th March on the occasion of Women's day but was unable to finish them and upload. These are inspiring tags for all the women all around the world...Dream big, Seize today and Be happy always! Happy Women's day!!

I really enjoyed making them a lot. Just waiting to make more soon. How did you like my tags? Which one is your favorite?

Altered box

Good Evening!

Back with another Altered project. An altered box just in time for Valentine's day.

This is a small approx. 4" x 4" bangle box from a jeweller. 

I have altered it to make a small Valentine's box storing a series of pictures. 

Here is the step-by-step procedure -

• Paint the entire box in black (This is basically to cover the logo / name of the jeweller)
• Cut and stick the pattern paper as per the sizes to cover the box from all sides. 
• Stick the embellishments such as laces, flowers chipboard, sequins etc.
• Stick a sentiment.
• For the pictures, take a sheet of paper (size 3" x 12") accordion fold it.
• Embellish each fold of the paper with some decorations. Put photos on each fold and personalise it.
• Fold it and put it inside the box. 
• There!  the box is ready to be gifted... :)

Flip album

Hello!! Everyone!

Today on the Blog, I am showing you my new project.... A Flipbook!!

This is the first time I am making one, so there are going to be some mistakes along. Please feel free to point out anything I have done wrong or can do better so that I can implement it in my further projects. 

Here we go....

This flip book measures around 4" x 6".

• Took a 12" x 12" black cardstock and cut it into 2 halves. Each part I scored at 4" intervals. I had 2 parts with 3 panels each.
• I took a strip of black paper measuring 1"x6". Folded it into half and used it to glue the two parts together. The inside of the album is ready now.
• I then took 2 pieces of cardstock, this time a little taller than 6" but 4" wide.Covered this piece with patterned paper and stuck it on the first and the last panel of the album. (Sandwich a piece of satin while doing this on either side)
• I then cut n stuck the patterned papers on all the inner panels (Size little less than 4x6 so that a black border can be seen all around.)
• Made a pocket on one of the panel to insert tags.
• Then came the embellishments, stickers, laces, sentiments, flowers etc.
• On the cover page of the flipbook, I made a small photo frame, embellished it with a stamped message.
• A bird on a tree chipboard adorned the cover page.  

TADAA... My flipbook is ready!!!

Mixed Media Project

Hello Everyone!

Today I am herewith something which I don't do very often. 

A Mixed media project!!

I am not a very Pro in this type of art. But have tried to come up with something inspired by the artists around me,

Here I am using the backing paper of some embellishments as the base. To begin with I used some colour textured paste and created some textures on the corners of the base (The textures didn't come out so well.... you will be left guessing what shape is that) . After that i used Distress ink and coloured the backing paper covering all of it. I then pasted a piece of Jute in the centre and a piece of mesh over it. Then came the feathers (I simply love them!), a piece of doily, a metal leaf.... a chipboard painted in golden colour.....and lastly few flowers to add colours. I then stamped a sentiment on a piece of paper and stuck it with foam adhesive. 

And so my yet another attempt at mixed media is completed!

Hope I have done justice to all the instructions and tips I followed. 

I really liked coming up with this one. And I think I should keep practicing more of this art.
