Guest Designing for I love Math Challenge

Hello friends!!

I am super excited today to share a card I made as a Guest Designer for 'I love Math Challenge'. I am truly honored to be a Guest designer for it.

A little bit about this challenge (I am sure you all already know) 

This is a challenge hosted by a very talented crafter Milka Gubo, known for her Super CAS cards. The challenge combines two of her passions and love(mine too) - Craft and Maths. The themes for it revolves around Math and its concepts.

I have been a long-time follower/participant of this challenge. I have also been lucky enough to have been in the Top 4 a few times and a winner with them twice. 
I will link my cards at the end of this post. 

Over to the current challenge!!!

The theme for this challenge is 'Anything goes - Christmas/Winter'

Here is my card for it.

When I first came to know about this theme, I thought of incorporating the basic concept of addition on my card. The card is simply based on some Christmas themed Math worksheets for preschoolers.

My heart beats for u

Hello friends!

Talk about last minute work...?

You must have heard me saying this numerous times before. I am becoming habitual with this. It has worked most of the times for me, but this is one of the time when it didn't.

And I can't tell you how heart broken I am because of this. 

Coming to my card.

Here's a card I wanted to link to the I love Math challenge, where the theme was GRID.

The idea for this card comes from my son, Aryan. He is a Math Wizard and is often my source of inspiration for this challenge.

The moment I said Grid... He said a Lifeline.

For my card, I printed a grey graph paper on a cardstock.

Hand drew the lifeline. 

In a card base, I added a distressed paper and foam mounted the graph (rectangular die-cut)

Printed and adhered the sentiment.

Added a red heart to create interest in the layout.

Happy Birthday - Geometric

Hi!

Sharing a quick card I made using some cardstock scraps. 

Here's my card!

I fussy cut some rectangles from colourful cardstocks. On a card base, I stamped the sentiment. Foam mounted the rectangles in descending order. Foam mounted a candle. Added stitched lines to all the rectangles.

Hi friends...

Here's a card, I made for the current I love Math challenge, where the theme is Stripes.

I began by adding colorful washi tape strips on a white card. On another white card, I die cut an oval window. Adhered this so that it overlooks the washi tape paper. 

Foam mounted this panel on a yellow card base.

 Added a heat embossed sentiment and few sequins to complete the card.

Spiral roses

Hi!

Sharing a quick CAS cards using MFT Scribble roses die.

Here's my card!

I began by loosely watercolouring circles on a watercolour paper with different distress inks. Die-cut few roses in white cardstock. Adhered these roses on different colours. Fussy cut them. On a white card panel, arranged the placement and stamped the leaves and other details. Adhered the roses on the panel creating levels using foam adhesive. Mounted this panel on a card base. Added a heat-embossed sentiment. Lastly, added few clear Nuvo drops.

Hi! A quick CAS card on the blog today!

I am using Jane's Doodles stamp set "Boris the bunny" here for this card.

I received this stamp set from Crafty Milka in addition to my Challenge win prize for I love Math challenge. This is a lovely stamp set with many cute images.

For my card, I have used the Bunny, flowers and the collective hearts. Stamped them all on a watercolour paper, coloured with Zig markers and fussy cut them all. On a top folding white card base, I masked the card leaving a circular portion of it. Distressed this using Twisted citron DI. Spritzed some water over it and dabbed it off. Stamped the sentiment on a strip. Assembled all the elements on the card, creating layers by adhering some directly and some using foam adhesive.

Today I am at the blog showcasing a card I made for the "I love Math challenge". This is the 8th Math challenge and the theme this time is Use a number or numbers on the project.

Here's my take on this theme.

 This is an unusual card that I made for this challenge. I have tried to make a CAS card wherein the base of the card is in the shape of a number.

To begin with, I traced the outline of the number on a side folding card base and cut along the outline. This gave me a number shaped openable card. I traced the same outline on a card panel, but a little smaller than the previous one. I cut along the outline of this panel. I mounted this one shaped panel on the card base using foam adhesive. This prepared the base of my card. 

I stamped all the images, coloured them with Zig markers and fussy cut them. The images are taken from "Elphie Selfie" and "Year Four" stamp set from Lawn Fawn and "You lift me up" stamp set from Craftyscrappers. 

Stamped the string at the top and adhered the banner cut outs. At the bottom corner, I highlighted the background using distress ink. Adhered the balloons and mounted the Elephant image using foam adhesive over the card. Added other details. Stamped the sentiment from my stash and edited to add "1st" to it. Added sequins to complete my card. Lastly, added glossy accents to the balloons and the birthday cap.

A new card for the ilovemath challenge by Crafty Milka. 

Theme for the challenge is number 7 - Use number 7 or7 something.

I am in love with this theme and can keep on making cards for it. 

Here's my card for today

For this card I took a print of the 7 continents. Coloured them and fussy cut the outline. On a white card panel, I printed the sentiment. Adhered the fussy-cut image on the card panel. Mounted this on a green side-folding card with foam adhesive.

Earlier I posted a card I made for "I love Math challenge" 

Here is another card for the same challenge # 7.

The theme of the challenge is Number 7 - Use No. 7 or 7 something!

My card here showcases the 7 wonders of the world. 

(There has been a lot of variations in the listing of the 7 wonders. I took 7 of the one I knew about to make my card.)

My list of 7 wonders include - 

• Big Ben - Westminster, London  
• Christ the Redeemer - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. 
• Taj Mahal - Agra, India  
• The leaning tower of Pisa - Pisa, Italy.
• Eiffel Tower - Paris, France.
• Statue of Liberty - New York, USA.
• The Colosseum - Rome, Italy.

Recipe of my card -

I printed the downloadable sketches of the 7 wonders and fussy cut them all. 

On a white card measuring 8.25" x 3.25", I arranged and printed the sentiment. 

I arranged all the images on the card. 

I adhered some images directly on the card, and few in between ones using foam adhesive. 

I adhered the images half-way over the card and trimmed the extra edges hanging over the card. 

Lastly, mounted the card on a black Card base.

Hello friends!

I have a very unique card on my blog today. 

I made this card for participating in the "I love Math challenge" at Craftymilka. 
Milka hosts this challenge quarterly with themes based on Mathematics and I just love participating in this challenge. 

The theme for this quarter is "Number 7" - We can use the number 7 or 7 something on your card!

Here's my card for the same. (I have 7 keys/syllables of the Xylophone.)

A Little background info about the concept of my card -
"Do-Re-Mi..." are the syllables used for a major scale in Solmization.
Solmization is a system wherein unique syllables are linked to each note of a musical scale, especially to teach singing.It was developed in the Medieval and is still in use in different forms throughout the world. 

 
"Do-Re-Mi" is also a show tune from the musical The Sound of Music. Within the story, it is used by Maria to teach the notes of the major musical scale to the children 
Each syllable of the musical solfège (music teaching) system appears in the song's lyrics, sung on the pitch it names.The lyrics teach the solfège syllables by linking them with English homophones. As the song concludes, "When you know the notes to sing, you can sing most anything'".

Synopsis of my card -
This is a very unusual card size I have ever worked with. The finished card measures around 6.5" x 3.5" in size.

• For my card, I took colourful paper strips to make the keys of Xylophone. 
• I cut the keys (freehand) in ascending order and rounded the edges. 
• Cut two thin black strips and adhered the keys on them at equal distance. 
• Next, I adhered this Xylophone on a white card panel. 
• Stamped the sentiment. Mounted this panel on a white card base. 
• I printed the syllables (I couldn't stamp them as the size was tiny and I didn't have the alphabet stamps of that size) Fussy cut them and adhered them on each key in a slant manner. 
• Lastly, I cut 2 thin strips and two tiny circles to form the sticks for playing the Xylophone and adhered them on the card.

Colourfull card

Hello, everyone!

I am sharing a card based on an unusual mathematical theme of  "Venn diagram"

This is a very interesting concept. 

All the Math lovers are surely gonna enjoy making this. I too had fun making it.

Here's my card!

For my card I decided to go with the symmetrical heart shaped die-cuts. I formed three sets of "Venn diagrams" in petal shape. 

The first petal of red and yellow intersecting with ornage.

The second petal of yellow and blue intersecting with green.

The third petal of red and blue intersecting with purple.

Everytime the primary colours overlapping each other to form the secondary colours.

All these 3 petals were arranged on a white circle die-cut to form a flower. 

The centre portion where all the colours overlap each other is represented by the white circle seen through the gap. 

(All colours together make white)

Adhered this flower on a black stitched rectangle. Mounted the black panel on a white card base. 

Stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment. Lastly, added few sequins to add some element.
